Adding Your Zypto Card to a Mobile Wallet
Mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay (Google Wallet), and Samsung Pay let you make contactless payments in stores by tapping your phone instead of swiping a card. If you have a Zypto card, you may be able to add it to your mobile wallet for in-store and online purchases.
Whether this works depends on your card type, your region, and the mobile wallet you're using. Here's a breakdown of what to expect.
Which Cards Work With Mobile Wallets?
Premium Virtual Cards
Premium virtual cards are designed to work with mobile wallets. You can add them to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay directly from the Zypto app. This is one of the key advantages of the Premium virtual card: once added, you can use it for contactless payments in stores, in apps, and online.
Non-Reloadable Virtual Cards
Non-reloadable cards can usually be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay, but this depends on the third-party supplier that issues the card. Suppliers may change their mobile wallet compatibility at any time. Even if a card can't be added to a mobile wallet, it will still work for online purchases anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted.
Adding to Apple Pay (iPhone)
Open the Wallet app on your iPhone (or go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay).
Tap the + button in the top right corner.
Select Debit or Credit Card.
You can either scan the card or enter the details manually. For virtual cards, you'll need to enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV manually.
Your card issuer may ask you to verify your identity. This might be an OTP (one-time passcode) sent to the email associated with the card, or another verification method.
Once verified, the card is added and ready to use. Hold your iPhone near a contactless terminal and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode to pay.
Adding to Google Pay / Google Wallet (Android)
Open the Google Wallet app on your Android phone.
Tap Add to Wallet, then select Payment card.
Enter your card details manually (card number, expiry date, CVV).
Google may ask the card issuer to verify your identity. You may see a message like "Your bank needs to verify it's you." If prompted, choose to verify via email and check the email associated with the card (including spam/junk folders) for an OTP.
Enter the OTP to complete verification.
Once added, you can use your phone to tap and pay at any contactless terminal.
Adding to Samsung Pay (Samsung devices)
Open the Samsung Pay (or Samsung Wallet) app.
Tap Add card.
Enter your card details manually or scan the card.
Complete any verification steps required by the card issuer.
Once added, you can pay by holding your Samsung device near a contactless terminal.
Other Mobile Wallets
Zypto cards may also work with other mobile wallet apps depending on the card network (Visa or Mastercard) and your region. The process is generally similar: open the wallet app, add a new card, enter your details, and complete any verification steps. If you're unsure whether a specific wallet is compatible, try adding the card and see if it goes through, or contact our support team for guidance.
Common Issues and What To Do
"Your bank needs to verify it's you"
This is a standard verification step. The card issuer needs to confirm you're the cardholder before allowing the card to be added to a mobile wallet. Look for a verification option (usually via email) and check the email address associated with the card, including spam/junk folders. If no verification option appears or the OTP never arrives, contact our support team and we'll follow up with the card issuer.
Card not accepted by the mobile wallet
Not all cards are accepted in all regions. Mobile wallet support can depend on your country, the card issuer, and the card network (Visa/Mastercard). If your card is declined when adding it to a wallet, it may be a regional restriction rather than a problem with the card itself. The card should still work for online purchases.
Verification OTP not received
Check your spam and junk folders. The OTP email comes from the card issuer, not from Zypto or the mobile wallet provider. If you still can't find it, contact our support team with your card details and we'll investigate with the issuer.
Card added but payments are declined in store
Make sure your card has sufficient balance loaded. Also check that the terminal supports contactless payments and that your phone's NFC is enabled. Some merchants may not accept prepaid cards for contactless payments.
Tips
Use the email associated with your card for verification. If you're not sure which email was used, check the Zypto app or contact support.
Keep your mobile wallet app updated. Older versions may have compatibility issues with certain cards.
Mobile wallet support can change. Since non-reloadable cards are provided by third-party suppliers, their mobile wallet compatibility may change over time. If a card that previously worked stops being accepted by a mobile wallet, it's likely due to a change on the supplier's side.
