Signs Your Card May Be Compromised
Watch out for any of the following:
Transactions you don't recognise on your card statement
Charges from merchants or services you've never used
Multiple declined transaction attempts you didn't make
Notifications about transactions in locations you haven't visited
What To Do Immediately
1. Contact Zypto support right away
Message us through the in-app chat or on the website. The faster you report it, the faster we can act. Have the following ready:
Your email address associated with the card
Your order ID or the last 4 digits of the card
A list of the transactions you did NOT authorise
Screenshots of any suspicious transactions if possible
2. We'll block the card
Our support team will immediately block the card to prevent any further unauthorised use. For Premium cards, you can also freeze the card yourself in the Zypto app while waiting for support to respond.
3. Dispute process
We'll file a dispute with the card issuer on your behalf. This process involves the issuer investigating the unauthorised transactions. Resolution timelines depend on the issuer and the complexity of the case, but we'll keep you updated throughout.
Getting a Replacement Card
Once the compromised card is blocked:
Premium Virtual Cards: A new virtual card can be issued quickly once the situation is resolved.
Premium Physical Cards: A replacement physical card will be shipped to your address.
Non-Reloadable Cards: These are managed by a third-party supplier. We'll work with them on your behalf if possible, but the dispute and replacement process may take longer than if you contact them directly. In some cases you will have to contact the supplier directly, but we will be happy to guide you through the process.
How To Protect Your Card
Never share your card details (card number, CVV, expiry date) with anyone via chat, email, or phone.
Use 3D Secure merchants where possible. Premium cards support 3D Secure, which adds an extra layer of authentication.
Be cautious with online merchants. Stick to well-known, reputable websites. If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Monitor your transactions. Check your card balance and transaction history regularly in the Zypto app or dashboard.
Don't store card details on websites you don't fully trust.
Our support team is available 24/7 in most regions. If something doesn't look right, don't wait. Report it immediately and we'll take it from there.
